We are recruiting  dedicated Children’s Support Worker’s to join our team working in Stockport. This role focuses on providing structured emotional and practical care directly to young people within our service. You will be responsible for creating a safe, stable, and nurturing environment that allows children to overcome challenges, manage their emotions, and build essential life skills

This position requires a strong commitment to fostering positive relationships with children, ensuring they receive the necessary resources and guidance, this role is all about building meaningful relationships and ensuring children feel valued and understood.

Your Responsibilities
  • Provide Emotional Support: Offer a calming, reassuring presence to young people in our care.
  • Encourage Independence: Guide children in learning essential life skills and managing emotions patiently.
  • Build Trusting Bonds: Create meaningful, positive relationships with the children to help them feel secure.
  • Collaborate with Teams: Work closely with colleagues to maintain a safe, structured, and caring environment.
  • Escort to Appointments: Accompany children to school, health check-ups, and professional meetings.
  • Organise Fun Activities: Participate in a variety of experiences for example , swimming, creative arts, soft-play, outdoor adventures, sensory activities, and special outings to encourage confidence and social engagement.

  • Be committed to learning and growing in the role, with opportunities to gain recognised qualifications.

Requirements

  • Experience working with children, particularly those with challenging behaviour or additional needs.
  • Patience, empathy, and a structured approach to care, and a non-judgemental approach towards families in need.
  • Ability to assist with personal care if needed.
  • Reliable and punctual.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Understanding of child protection policies and procedures.
  • Valid UK right-to-work status-  Candidates must hold a UK right to work status that does not requires employer facilitation.
